How allowing clients to view their website early lead to a large sale.
Last week I had an awesome experience. We were getting ready to launch a new website. The last step in the process is to make sure the client is happy. All of the updates and changes the client gave us have to be done and double checked. Well with this client a couple people at their business were in charge of giving us feedback. So for convenience sake, we made the site live before it was completely finished. This isn’t a good practice because it’s not yet exactly what the client wants. But again, for convenience sake, we went ahead.
About a week later we were finishing up, I met with one of the owners to go over the final changes and show her how to update her site. While I was teaching her to edit the website – and where to look to see who contacted them, we noticed someone already wanted to buy one of their year round generators! They got the the request through their email but didn’t realize it came from the website. We didn’t even have the website submitted to Google yet – only had it on Google Maps.
Just goes to show you if someone is looking for a product you have and you have a professionally written website – they will find you online! I’m so excited for these guys. It was a pleasure working with them and they are wise enough to know that even in a small town having a professionally designed and written website is a plus for sales. People will be able to Google electricians in their town and they will come up. Sometimes people in small towns rely solely on word of mouth. While that proves they have a good product it doesn’t have the power a professional website does. People used to go to the yellow pages – well that’s been replaced by a Google.
