Stop Sending Every Marketing Campaign to Your Homepage

You spend time writing an email. Recording a video. Posting on LinkedIn. Running an ad. Maybe speaking at an event.

Each one is built around a specific idea, a specific problem, or a specific offer.

And then you send everyone to the same place: your homepage.

It’s one of the most common marketing habits, and one of the most costly. It’s also why campaign landing pages are one of the simplest ways to make the marketing you’re already doing work harder.

Your Homepage Can’t Do Every Job

Your homepage has an important role. It introduces your business to people who don’t know you yet. It has to speak broadly, cover every service, and point visitors in several directions.

That’s exactly why it’s the wrong destination for most campaigns.

When someone clicks on an email about website maintenance, they’re thinking about website maintenance. If they land on a homepage about your company history, your full list of services, and a general “Contact Us” button, the conversation breaks. They have to go looking for the thing that caught their attention in the first place.

Many won’t bother.

How Momentum Gets Lost

Here’s how it happens across your marketing:

  • A LinkedIn post about AI visibility leads to the homepage.
  • An email about accessibility leads to the homepage.
  • An ad for a specific service leads to the homepage.
  • A referral from a partner who recommended one specific thing leads to the homepage.

Each time, the visitor arrives interested in one thing and finds a page about everything.

What Campaign Landing Pages Do Differently

A better path looks like this:

Campaign → relevant page → clear next step.

Campaign landing pages continue exactly where the email, post, video, ad, or referral left off. A good one keeps four things consistent:

  • The same problem. The page picks up the issue that got the click.
  • The same audience. It speaks to the person the campaign was written for.
  • The same promise. Whatever you offered in the campaign is delivered or explained right away.
  • A clear next step. One obvious action, not ten.

When everything feels connected, visitors don’t have to work to stay interested. The page simply continues the conversation.

This Doesn’t Always Mean a New Page

Campaign landing pages don’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes the right destination already exists: a specific service page, an article that goes deeper on the topic, or a resource you’ve already created.

The key is to match the destination to the message. If your campaign is about ADA accessibility, send people to accessibility information. If your post is about scaling a business, send them to something written for businesses ready to scale.

You’ll Learn More, Too

There’s another benefit. When each campaign has its own destination, you can see what’s working. You’ll know which email drove real inquiries, which topic kept people reading, and which message fell flat. When everything goes to the homepage, that information gets blurred together.

Where to Start

Look at your next planned campaign, whether it’s an email, a post, or an ad, and ask: Where should this person land to continue this exact conversation?

If the answer isn’t your homepage, and it usually isn’t, that’s the page to create or improve.

Design Interventions helps businesses build service pages and campaign landing pages that turn attention into action. If your marketing is working hard but your website isn’t keeping up, let’s talk.

Why More Attention Is Not Turning Into More Customers

Your marketing report looks good. Traffic is up. Your video got a lot of views. Your LinkedIn post reached thousands of people. So why doesn’t it feel like more customers are coming in? Because attention and engagement aren’t the same thing. Attention gets you seen. Website engagement tells you whether your message is actually connecting.

Why Interested Visitors Still Leave Without Contacting You

Someone finds your website. They read your services page. They look at a few projects. They seem genuinely interested. Then they leave without contacting you. It’s tempting to assume they just weren’t interested enough. But often, the problem isn’t interest at all. It’s uncertainty. And uncertainty is one of the most common, and most fixable, […]

Your Website Needs Evidence, Not Claims

September 28, 2026 Design Interventions No comments yet

“Trusted.” “Experienced.” “High quality.” “Exceptional service.” Look at almost any business website and you’ll find those words. Look at your competitors’ websites and you’ll probably find them there too. That’s the problem. When everyone makes the same claims, the claims stop meaning anything. Real website credibility doesn’t come from what you say about yourself. It […]
